Prototype Wiring Technician
I am currently looking to recruit experienced Prototype Wiring Technicians / PCB Wirers
Peterborough
This may also interest hands on Electronics Test Technicians
£25.50 FCSA Umbrella (this role is deemed inside IR35), £18.50 paye
This will initially be a 12 month contract and highly likely to be extending and becoming a long term opportunity
To be successful you must have background in manufacturing, electronics assembly with very good soldering skills.
Essential skills
– Strong Harness / Loom Building Experience
- – Strong Chassis Wiring Skills
- – Strong point to point Wiring Skills
- – Strong Mechanical Aptitude
- – Able to design & build control boxes / panels
- – Special Purpose Machinery Wiring skills would be ideal
– Module / Functional Test Experience
– loom making
– good soldering skills (ideally previous exp of IPC 610/620 or similar)
– working from drawing
– precision assembly
– cable making
– ability to work from production packs, understand wiring diagrams & schematics
– good soldering skills
Desirable (not essential)
- Exposure to PCB Testing
- Calibration of Precision Instruments
If successful my client can start people straight away.
Pay Rate £18.50 paye – £25.50 per hour (FCSA Umbrella – This role is Inside IR35).
The client has indicated they may consider application from people above these rates on a case by case basis.

To be successful you must have background in PCB wiring or PCB testing & assembly. Any experience of doing one off, prototype or high value low volume (this could be Nuclear (ideal) or even MOD/Defence/Aerospace/Prototype Vehicle or similar Low Volume, High Value prototype development as well.
