Peterborough
£33 – £35ph FCSA Umbrella (This role is deemed inside IR 35
£23 £25 Paye.
Some hybrid available, min 3 days pw on site in Peterborough
Are you a Mechanical Engineer, Leading Hand, or Supervisor with a background in developing services for a Test Facility, Manufacturing or Engineering R&D Facility?
Do you have experience with maintaining site CMMS ’s for large sites?
Do you know the technical and logistical requirements to carry out introduction of industrial assets either from hands on experience or a supervisory/job planning?

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a facilities or maintenance specialist
 
They are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to assist with the data gathering and implementation of a new Projects progreesing through the Test Facility.
The tasks will include reviewing asset data, obtaining the manufacturers manuals for each asset, creation of a technical library of manuals, interpreting the manual content to create job plans for each asset and assigning periodicities.
 
The work involves solving complex mechanical issues across the facility with specific focus on services and safety systems for the test cell environment. This includes maintaining the existing set-up as well as contributing to the strategic upgrades required to meet the future demand.
The day-to-day work will involve leadership and execution of projects working across a multi-functional team and the successful applicant will become a key member of the Test Facilities Engineering team, with opportunities to work on the creation and deployment of these new systems.
 
Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Evaluation, selection, and deployment of test cell technologies.
  • Design and development of mechanical systems and subsequent services to support.
  • Working with the wider team as well as third parties where required.
  • Collation and distribution of findings in technical reports.
  • Design modifications to facility plant, test rigs and equipment.
  • Develop, document, and maintain processes.
  • Complex fault finding.

 
Required skills, qualifications and experience            
Experience of working in a test cell environment, complex manufacturing or Engineering R&D Facility or with relevant mechanical and safety systems.
Understanding problem solving.
Working with mechanical systems.
Understanding of Asset Management systems principals
Ability to create & interpret technical manuals to derive data
Reasonably P.C literate in standard Microsoft Office packages
