Indirect Manufactured Products
This role will be split between Peterlee & Saltburn by Sea
£30 – £32.00 FCSA Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Paye available too (£21 – £23ph)
Some hybrid available (Min 2 days pw onsite in Peterlee 1-2 days pw Saltburn)
Do you have a Strategic purchasing/buying background in purchasing Category Buying for indirect products/projects within the Manufacturing industry?
Have you been responsible for category purchased indirect products – Ideally this will be within either an Aerospace, Automotive or similar high value manufactured machinery/vehicle Industry
Do you understand the importance of cost reduction in large & complicated supply chains?

Our Peterlee based client are looking for applications from commodity indirect purchasing specialists who are able to optimize, streamline & improve their bought products for their manufacturing facility.
Some limited Hybrid available, Min 4 Days pw required between the two sites
Prime Requirements of the Role
- Commercial Purchasing Experience as a Buyer of relevant products or Processes (Manufactured Steel Fabrications, Manufactured Welding Assemblies / Sub-Assemblies, Harness or Complex Cable Assemblies, Non-metallic Components for Manufacturing)
- Category Management experience highly relevant.
- Experience within one of the Category requirements
- Cost Reduction experience through Negotiation / Design is highly desirable and effectively essential
- Good Excel Skills
- Education : One or more of Degree, CIPS , Apprentice Trained with HNC , Extensive On the job
JOB PURPOSE:
Manage supply network procurement related activities to deliver procurement excellence and integration between Suppliers & internal customers throughout the site.. Demonstrate leadership in recognising the potential for cost and inventory reductions, and quality improvement; as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
Provides supply network solutions expertise, using Quality, Cost, Logistics, and Development Management (QCLDM) to deliver maximum value.

Understand the current performance of the supply network, evaluate strategic options, decide a course of action, and begin implementation. The incumbent should ideally have a strong knowledge of Facility, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Category Strategies and be able to implement Cost Reduction Projects
Experience is preferred in purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, and/or engineering.
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Qualifications / Experience.
Up to 5 years job-related experience.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are required in dealing with sensitive issues, developing others, and reaching consensus on specific actions.
This individual normally possesses Category Team or Facility Supply Team experience.
Is experienced in leading teams, suppliers and customers to effective solutions. Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skill.
Previous 6 Sigma Greenbelt/Black Belt experience preferred.
